Gianluigi Buffon is considered one of the best goalkeepers of history. He started his career at Parma when he was only 17. He played more than 200 matches for the club in 6 years and he won the UEFA Cup, the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup in 1999. In 2001 he signed to Juventus Turin for a world-record goalkeeper's transfer fee. He is still playing for Juventus Turin and he has become one of the best players of the club’s history. He succeeded in winning the Serie A in 2002 and 2003 and the Italian Super Cup in 2002 and 2003. He also reached the Final of the Champions League in 2003. He is one of the crowd favorites because he stayed in the club even when Juventus Turin played in Serie B in 2006-2007. Also the captain of the Italy National Team, he appeared 106 times for his country and he won the FIFA World Cup in 2006.
