Maurice Smith
He Does It All
Maurice Smith can do it all. The Jamaican decathlete holds the national record with 8,644 points, which he earned at the 2007 World Champs in Osaka (2nd place). He earned his first international gold medal at the Pan American Games in 2007, where he also broke the meet’s decathlon record. Smith placed 9th at the 2008 Olympics with 8,205 points. He is a 2005 graduate of Auburn University in Alabama where he still lives and trains most of the year.
