Michael Carrick is a midfielder of Manchester United and the England national team. He has made more than 300 Premier League appearances and played in 50 UEFA Champions League games. Carrick began his career at West Ham United, joining the youth team in 1997 and winning the FA Youth Cup two years later. He was sent on loan twice to Swindon Town and Birmingham City. He experienced relegation in the 2002–03 season and was voted into the PFA First Division Team of the Year in the following campaign. He made more than 150 appearances for the Hammers, before moving to rival London club Tottenham Hotspur where he made 75 appearances. In 2006, he signed for Manchester United. He has won the Premier League several times, the Champions League 2008, the FIFA Club World Cup 2008, the FA Community Shield in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 and the English Cup in 2010.He also made his England debut in 2001 and has since appeared 22 times.
