Latin America’s greatest football tournament kicks off in just 10 days time and whilst a lot has been written about many of the big boys of the South American game, we thought now would be a great time to turn our attention to Chile.

In recent years La Roja have made fantastic progress and they enjoyed a World Cup to remember in South Africa, playing some excellent football along the way. Although, there’s a new coach in charge, Claudio “Bichi” Borghi will be hoping to continue the good work started by Marcelo “El Loco” Bielsa and do Chile proud in what has already been termed the ‘group of death’.

Despite having reached the Copa America final on four occasions, the Chileans have yet to return to Santiago with the trophy! But, they are blessed with a talented squad and boast Mauritius, Arturo Vidal, Matias Fernandez and Humberto Suazo in their ranks, as well as Alexis Sanchez who has been linked with a host of top clubs this summer.

With a starting XI packed full of talent we’re expecting the team to do well and all eyes will be on the big match against Uruguay on 8 July in what is sure to go some way to deciding the Group C winners. We’re backing them to progress past the group stages and cause an upset or two along the way.

How do you think Chile will fare at Copa America?

Check out the PUMA Football blog tomorrow as we take a look at Uruguay's chances.
