Both players have been on scintillating form in their domestic leagues with over 30 goals between them and have had no problem transferring this to Europe’s premier competition. It’s sure to be an action packed game against two giants of Champions League football, who coincidentally, both sit third in their domestic league with the leaders nervously looking over their shoulders.
With a great turn of pace and keen eye for goal Eto’o is one of the world’s best forwards, but Gomes has been terrorising defences and winning plaudits in the Bundesliga this year. Eto’o and Gomes are marked men in their respective leagues. Both have smashed transfer records. But, only one will make it through to the next round.
