The Geordies kept up their fantastic start to the season with a thoroughly deserved victory. Summer signing Demba Ba was the star man with the Senegalese striker grabbing his first ever hat-trick in English football. The victory means Newcastle maintain their best start to a Premiership season in nine years and more importantly, keeps them in the Champions League places in what promises to be an exciting season for the Magpies.
Wigan 1-2 Tottenham
Harry Redknapp’s men turned in a great performance to stretch their winning run to three games. Spurs went ahead after a couple of minutes following a slip by the home side which presented an easy chance for Rafael van der Vaart. Tottenham then doubled their advantage 20 minutes later when an unmarked Gareth Bale headed home an inviting corner. Although, the home side rallied in the second-half and reduced the deficit on 50 minutes, Spurs held on to claim an excellent victory.
The Argentina and Manchester City star had another outstanding game, creating the opening goal in the 68th minute as his side recorded a 2-0 victory. Agüero was once again in inspirational throughout the match and will be pleased with his contribution! After a string of impressive performances Sergio Agüero is more than justifying his price tag with 10 assists and eight goals to his name already this season.
