Gatorade announces 2011 Player of the Year in California

Lauren Bohaboy of Santa Margarita Catholic High School was named Gatorade Player of the year in California. In it's 26th year, the award was given to Lauren for her achievements on and off the field.

Lauren, over her prep soccer career, netted 100 goals and 34 assists. This past year she led her eagles to the CIF-Southern Section Division I Semifinals and a 24-4-3 record.This 5-foot-7 senior is a two-time All-American selection and is rated the No. 5 recruit in the Class of 2011 by TopDrawerSoccer.com. In the offseason, Lauren plays for the PUMA TCC Club, So. Cal Blues out of San Juan Capistrano, CA. Off the field, Bohaboy maintained a 3.73 GPA along with founding the "Be an Angel, Save a Life" campaign that helps children in Africa get the immunizations needed to fight measles. Congratulations to Lauren and her nomination!
