La Celeste Turn on the Style in 4-2 Win!

Uruguay began the match as favourites and broke the deadlock after just three minutes following a corner that the Bolivians failed to clear. Despite being a goal down, Bolivia rallied and soon grabbed an equaliser in spectacular fashion; courtesy of a looping shot that crashed in off the far post to send the travelling fans wild.

But, Uruguay have proved themselves to be a strong outfit with an effective game-plan built upon a solid defence and fast, counter-attacking forward play and regained the lead just before the half-hour mark as the captain planted a firm header beyond the Bolivian keeper. Just before the break, Uruguay once again showed their class to make it 3-1, with another header, this time at the far post following an inviting cross.

In the second-half Uruguay continued to pour men forward and they added a fourth goal that effectively sealed victory, before Bolivia pulled back a late consolidation from the penalty spot.

It’s been a fantastic year for the Uruguayans who celebrated winning a record-breaking 15th COPA America title in July and we’re backing them to top their qualifying group in spectacular fashion!
