PUMA Athlete and Boston Breakers midfielder Leslie Osborne made her way to California on Monday to stop by the Blues Cup and show her support for Project Pink. Leslie had the opportunity to talk with some of the clubs and give them an insider’s view on what it’s like to be a professional athlete playing in the WPS and how the teams and athetes have rallied around Projet Pink this season to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer.
“When I heard about Project Pink, I thought it was such a great idea and knew I wanted to get involved and help however I could,” explained Osborne. “Breast cancer affects so many women across the country and around the world, and I know a few friends’ and teammates’ moms who’ve suffered from and beat the disease – but I think it’s important not to wait until it hits home to educate yourself. Project Pink is an awesome opportunity to reach out to the fans. I think awareness is truly the first step.”
