Reus got his first of the day in the 23rd minute after picking up the ball and jinking his way through a number of Werder defenders before firing the into the bottom left hand corner. His second of the game came when a counter attack led to the the Mönchengladbach number 7 racing clear down the left hand side before slotting the ball back into the man of the moment, who deftly chipped the ball into the net.
With Reus showing clinical finishing throughout the game his third and final goal looked to be on the cards and he duly delivered in the second half. After a defence splitting pass the Mönchengladbach number 19 beat the offside trap and fired a shot that was palmed away by the keeper, but Marco Reus found himself in the right place at the right time and slotted the ball home from 17 yards.
