    PUMA’s Gonzalo Oscar Camacho (“Gonza”) is Argentina’s 27-year-old flying wing and has all the attributes of a world class 14. Gonzalo is also comfortable in the centre and his deadly combination of explosive acceleration and nifty footwork have made him a mainstay of Los Pumas since making his debut against Uruguay in 2008.

    A week or so on from the dancing and fireworks of the opening ceremony in Auckland and pundits are already discussing the knockout stages of the competition, anticipating a fortuitous northern hemisphere Vs. southern hemisphere split that will lead one nation to emerge from each region to contest the final.


    Still, given the rollercoaster ride we have experienced so far it was clear there would be many more ups and downs before the Pool stages were finally decided and this weekend certainly didn’t disappoint!

    The anticipation is over, the first ball has been kicked, and the home nation provided their fans with a familiar blend of joy and frustration in their opening fixture against Tonga, which will no doubt lead New Zealanders to wonder whether they really do have what it takes to regain the trophy they have not held since the competition’s inaugural year in 1987.

Now we all know the goalie's situation is very, very different from the other players, his actions are almost always more important and will be closer looked at, evaluated, and judged, than anyone else on the pitch.
