Uruguay and Chile All Set to Kick Off

Chile

This evening sees the Copa America ‘Group of Death’ get under way as PUMA Football teams Uruguay and Chile kick off their eagerly anticipated campaigns.

The much fancied Uruguayans take on Peru in what we’re sure will be an exciting and finely balanced encounter. Many pundits have commented that over the past 18 months Uruguay have been on something of an upward trajectory with their free flowing football and will be looking to build upon their great showing at last year’s World Cup. They also have 14 Copa America championships tucked away in their trophy cabinet and will go into the game as favourites, but Peru boasts a squad packed full of talent and will be no walkovers. We’re expecting the game to be a competitive affair with the Uruguayans just about coming out on top in a 2-1 victory. How do think they will fare?

A little bit later Chile will face Mexico in what promises to be another fascinating Copa America game. The Chileans, who we are fancying to cause an upset or two at Latin America’s most prestigious tournament take on a youthful Mexico side that are something of an unknown quantity. What we do know is that Mexico always play with plenty of attacking purpose. That said, the Chileans will not underestimate the opposition and we’re expecting end to end action and hopefully some goals! Our prediction is that Chile’s experience will prove too much and they’ll walk away with a 2-0 win, maybe more. It’ll be anything but a goalless draw.

We’ve put our heads on the line to say which way we thing the games will go. We’d love to hear how you think the teams will get on! After all, everyone loves to make a prediction or two! So get involved.
