Uruguay Prepare for Paraguay

Without doubt, this is the most entertaining tournament in years with excitement, action and drama at every stage. Both teams have been the underdog on occasions in the tournament, but their fantastic team spirit, attacking football and work rate, coupled with good fortune has seen Uruguay and Paraguay reach the final.

Uruguay’s performances have got better with each and every game, and they go into the final as favourites, but will not be taking Paraguay lightly. Especially, after the Paraguayans eliminated Brazil at the quarter-final stage with a famous 2-0 victory that is sure to go down in history.

Unusually, both sides have enjoyed contrasting results en route to the final with Uruguay yet to lose a game, whilst Paraguay have not won in 90 minutes or extra-time. Instead, Paraguay has managed to progress thanks to a combination of draws and keeping their nerve from the spot in two nail-biting penalty shootouts.

If history is anything to go by, we’re expecting goals! In fact four of the last five finals have seen more than three goals and we’re hoping for more of the same from Luis Suarez, Diego Forlan and co!
