PUMA Announces Partnership with South African Football Association
June 07, 2011PUMA is delighted to announce that it has entered into a new partnership with the South African Football Association to become the official technical supplier to the SAFA. Starting immediately and lasting beyond the next two FIFA World Cups, PUMA will provide the official playing kits for all South African teams including the National ‘A’, Youth and Women’s teams.

Winners of the PUMA Mascot Design Competition
August 25, 2010Ahead of the 2010 tournaments, the PUMA Mascot Design competition invited students at selected universities in Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana and Tunisia to create a mascot design symbolizing their national team and the perception of football in their country. The students were inspired by joy, hope, pride, honor, and glory to produce either a sculpture, picture, or painting. Selecting winners from so many beautiful and inspiring entries was extremely difficult, and we would like to thank all of the fans who shared with us their vision of what their national team means to them, and how to reflect this in a mascot. We are pleased and proud to present the chosen winners for each participating country.

Gil Azzurri and American Footballs
June 14, 2010Only two touches inside the penalty box before scoring. Now our football hearts might be slightly inked with Azzurri blue, but think it's safe to say that Paraguay's 1-0 lead came as a surprise. But the great World Champions weren't here to lose, and less than ten minutes into second half, De Rossi showed that he just might be a worthy ancestor of Rome (Totti), and Italy. Despite several chances the result stood tall when the final whistle blew. But biggest setback wasn't the draw for the Italians - longtime hero, Buffon went out in halftime due to a hamstring injury. Really hope it was just precaution and he's fit again soon.

History was Made Instantly at the Historical World Cup
June 11, 2010Yes. It has begun. PUMAFootball went with many more crazy football aficionados and watched the game at PUMA City in New York. We all knew it was going to be epic, all they had to do was have kick-off and this World Cup was already making history. The first time ever the World Cup is being played on African soil. A symbol and message that is perhaps bigger than football itself.

Les Fennecs are Off to Africa
June 09, 2010Leaving Germany for the flight to South Africa with the Algeria team felt momentous. The Desert Foxes all seemed to be equally focused and excited. Everyone cheered when the plane that was decorated for the occasion, cruised up to the jet way for boarding.

June 05, 2010The "1, 2, 3, viva l'Algerie" chant has been following PUMA Football throughout the stay in Herzoganauch with the Algerian team. The Algerian fans have come from near and far to be with their boys before they leave tomorrow for South Africa.
