Czech Republic
The Start Of Something Big
When Czechoslovakia split and reformed into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Czech Republic national team was formed. Their first competitive match was part of the UEFA Euro 1996 qualifying campaign where they finished in first place. The Czech Republic progressed to the Finals of Euro 2004. They made their way through to the Semifinals, where they were beaten by the eventual champion Greece. After qualifying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, the Czechs finished top of their group above Germany on head–to–head records in the 2008 Euro Cup qualifying campaign.
