Sweat Pretty Conquers the Stand Up Paddle Board

OK, in the realm of fun fitness, “fun” is a major part of stand-up paddle boarding (or SUP as the regulars call it). Oh, there’s plenty of fitness, too. As with any paddle sport, you’ll be using the large muscles in your arms, back, and shoulders. Since you are balancing while standing, you’ll also be engaging your core like crazy. The thing is, it’s so awesome­—being out on the water, hanging with your girls, soaking up the sun— that it won’t feel like working out (until the next day). Once you’ve mastered the technique, you can burn some serious cardio on that board or just cruise around and chill. That beats an indoor rowing machine any day.
