Gatorade announces 2011 Player of the Year in Ohio

Sandra Yu of Walsh Jesuit High School was named Gatorade Player of the year in Ohio. In it's 26th year, the award was given to Sandra for her achievements on and off the field.

Yu, over her prep soccer career, has netted 29 goals and 28 assists. This past year she led the Warriors to the Division I State Championship with a record of 19-1-3. This 5-foot-4 sophomore put away two goals and assisted another in their 3-0 state championship victory over Pickerington North. Yu is also an ESPN RISE First Team All-American and is a member of the U.S. Soccer U-17 Women's National Team. In the offseason Yu plays for PUMA TCC Club, Cleveland FC. Off the field, she maintains a 4.30 GPA along with volunteering locally as a youth soccer mentor and instructor. Congratulations to Sandra and her nomination!
