Smith of Jamaica defended her title in the women’s triple jump during day five of the CWG. Her jump of 14.19 meters was her only legal jump of six jumps. She considered herself lucky by saying, "God was good to me today."
Spence finished second in the 200m running a personal best of 20.49 seconds. The 27 year old finished close behind England’s Leon Baptiste (20.45).
Kgosiemang placed third in the men’s high jump competition clearing the height of 2.26 meters. Donald Thomas of the Bahamas won the event after he cleared the height of 2.32.
MLF anchored England’s gold medal 4x100 meter relay team. MLF received the baton from Marlon Devonish and roared down the home straight securing England’s first place finish in the event, ahead of Jamaica (second) and India (third).
