Congratulations to PUMA Athletes Moses Kipsiro, Mark Lewis-Francis, and Sean Quigley who all competed this past weekend. Kipsiro and Lewis-Francis both competed in the Continental Cup in Split, Croatia while Quigley raced in the USA 20km Championships in New Haven, CT, USA.

Kipsiro had an exceptional weekend at the Continental Cup but so did top competitor Bernard Lagat. On Day One of the meet, Kipsiro placed second in the 5000m running 13:58.35, just 0.12 seconds behind Lagat who finished in 13:58.23. On Day Two both athletes turned around to race in the 3000m. Kipsiro again finished second in 7:54.98 (his season's best), but Lagat took first finishing in 7:54.75.

Lewis-Francis also raced well at the Continental Cup. The British sprinter placed third in the 100m finishing in 10.16, his season's best. Christophe Lemaitre finished first in 10.06 and Daniel Bailey took second finishing in 10.10.

The Continental Cup is a unique meet where athletes compete on teams representing entire continents rather than individual nations. In a year without the World Championships or Olympics, the Continental Cup offers the closest thing to global competition for track and field athletes until next year's World Champs. Kipsiro competed for Africa and Lewis-Francis competed for Europe.

Yesterday Quigley earned his first USA road title by winning the USA 20km Championships in New Haven, CT, USA. Quigley ran 59:21 to win by eight seconds over Mo Trafeh. The USA 20km Championships race is apart of the USA Running Circuit (USARC), a USA Track & Field road series featuring events from one mile to the marathon and attracting the best United States distance runners.
