Canstruction® evoSPEED shoe displayed at PUMA YARD

PUMA YARD will put its best, most charitable foot forward in association with Canstruction® by displaying a massive PUMA shoe made entirely out of cans full of food. The “shoe” is replica of the evoSPEED spike worn by PUMA’s track and field athletes. It’s made entirely out of full cans of food, and is designed/built by Thornton Tomasetti and Canstruction®.

"Canstruction is excited to partner with a company that shares the same passion and vision for fostering a creative and philanthropic community,” said Chakshu Mehta, Director of Operations for Canstruction. “With PUMA YARD we will be able to showcase the passion of our local artists and instill the importance of community service to thousands of PUMA and [sport] fans around the world. “

Canstruction is an international charity that holds unique design/build exhibitions showcasing colossal sculptures built from thousands of full cans of food. These astounding creations are helping change the world by lifting the spirits of those in need, raising public awareness of hunger issues, and most importantly, by collecting millions of pounds of food for local food banks.

“Having this sculpture displayed during Usain Bolt’s highly anticipated sporting event will be sure to amaze and inspire,” says Mehta. “Not only will this event impact thousands of fans but PUMA's contribution of over 3,000 cans of food will provide upwards of 4,000 meals for local UK residents."

When the PUMA YARD closes up shop, the cans in this PUMA evoSPEED structure will be packed up and sent to local food banks… Now that, friends, is a “good” shoe indeed.
