What a crazy day of racing at Sepang! First we had Sandro Cortese crowned Moto3 World Champion, then Marc Márquez crashed out of Moto2 with one hand on the trophy, and to top it all off MotoGP red flagged as a monsoon hit the circuit!
With just a few days rest in between rounds the MotoGP riders head straight to Malaysia for Round 16 of the season, following another race in Japan which kept the title fight between Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa alive.
Three races to go and there are just 28 points separating Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa in the race for the title after the Grand Prix of Japan!
The final stretch of the MotoGP season starts at Motegi this weekend, where the Grand Prix of Japan kicks off a three-in-a-row run of races that will decide the Championship.
It's a two-horse race between Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, with the former leading the latter by 33 points and Pedrosa needing to maintain his winning streak and receive a large dose of luck to deny Lorenzo a second MotoGP title.
The third of four Spanish races is on the MotoGP agenda this weekend, where round 14 of 18 will see whether Dani Pedrosa still has enough left in the tank to challenge Jorge Lorenzo for the 2012 title.
They've had almost three weeks off since the last round in Brno but the MotoGP riders have been testing in the meantime, and there will be plenty of scores to be settled on the Adriatic Coast this weekend at the San Marino Grand Prix.
Valentino Rossi was flying solo at Brno for Ducati in the Czech Republic Grand Prix with Nicky Hayden out injured, and after what was a tough time in Indianapolis in the previous round things looked to be going really well at the beginning of the weekend.
The MotoGP riders had a hectic run of three races in a row before a hard-earned and much-needed break last weekend, but they're back on the global trail again this weekend with Round 10 of the 2012 World Championship at the famous Laguna Seca circuit.
After five months without any MotoGP racing it was great to be back in the thick of it in Qatar for the start of the 2012 season! The best thing about the whole weekend was that it didn't go as expected, for reasons both good and bad...
