There's Something About Bacon.

If you could bottle up the scent of bacon and wear it, many a man wouldn’t protest. Bacon is not merely delicious—it has history, meaning, and electrolytes, too. Get a load of these bacon bits. (Ha!)

• Bacon is hailed as one of history’s oldest meats. Back in the day, circa 1500 BC, the Chinese were preserving and salting pork bellies.

• Sir Francis Bacon served England under Queen Elizabeth I. He is known as the Father of Empiricism. There is no empirical evidence on record to support the fact that Bacon ate bacon.

• The phrase ‘bring home the bacon’ originated in the 12^th century. A church in the English town of Dunmow promised bacon to any married man who could swear that he had not argued with his wife for a year and a day. A husband who could ‘bring home the bacon’ was held in high esteem by the community. In short, bacon makes a great anniversary gift.

• Bacon is a hangover remedy. The salt in bacon replenishes essential sodium electrolytes.

• ‘Bacon and Eggs’ was originally a part of a propaganda scheme to increase bacon sales. In the 1920s,  PR guru Edward Bernays conducted a survey of physicians and reported their recommendation that people eat hearty breakfasts. In short, Bernays helped convince the public that ‘bacon and eggs’ was the true, hearty all-American breakfast.
