We get closer to the World Cup with the player perspective from two of Ireland’s finest exclusively for PUMA Rugby! Here’s what Tommy Bowe and Jamie Heaslip had to say on a magnificent week for Irish rugby...

Tommy Bowe

What a weekend! The Irish record has been so poor in the World Cup and so many times we'd gotten so close to beating the Aussies, but never managed to get over the line! A little bit like me in the game, but thankfully we didn't need it! Ha!

The crowd for the game was the most passionate and impressive as any away match I've ever played in. It really made such a difference. A great weekend and game all in all, but back to business again this week. After a few fun days off and getting a chance to go white water rafting, we are back looking forward to the Russian game this Sunday. Meant to be a packed house again so I can't wait!!

Jamie Heaslip

After the weekend there were a lot of sore and exhausted bodies, and yes, another change of venue! So on Sunday we headed to Taupo to relax and chill out for a few days before starting training again. Mind you, I don't know if many people would consider white water rafting chilling out, but I certainly loved it along with the hot pools afterwards. Today is a day off after two good days training and we’re also switching base again. Off to Rotorua where there will be a switch in mindset again to game focus for Sunday. The travelling support keeps getting better and better so looking forward to seeing it again.
