Last year Aragon delivered one of Ducati’s best performances, so PUMA’s partner team was looking forward to an improvement in fortune following some challenging recent performances. After a win and third place here in 2010, both Valentino Rossi - having his first ride for Ducati at the complex in central Spain - and Nicky Hayden, travelled to the circuit in a confident frame of mind.
If anyone doubts that Valentino Rossi is still highly motivated despite the present challenges being faced by PUMA’s partner team Ducati, then a review of the start of today’s San Marino Grand Prix at Mugello on the Adriatic coast should dispel those thoughts.
“Must improve”. There simply is no other way of describing the performance of PUMA’s MotoGP partner team Ducati in the weekend’s Indianapolis Grand Prix.
Obviously as the team owner who brought Michael Schumacher into Formula 1 at a time when I believe very few other teams would have considered a German driver, I am extremely proud that Michael this weekend celebrates his 20th anniversary here at Spa-Francorchamps.

The eleventh round of the MotoGP championship in Brno, Czech Republic may have ended with a walkover for Honda’s championship leader Casey Stoner, but the outcome was in doubt before the start of the 22-lap race after Dani Pedrosa again proved the fastest rider out there.
After that scintillating race in Germany the big question is whether the Hungarian Grand Prix can deliver the same again. There we had a world-class show, with Lewis Hamilton shrugging aside all the criticism he has endured since Monza last year to win from Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber.
