PUMA Runner Jermaine Gonzales ran to victory in the 400m with a blistering time of 44.40. The time established a new Jamaican national record, erasing the 13-year mark of 44.49 set by Roxbert Martin on June 21, 1997, at the National Stadium.
Jermaine’s performances in the 400m this year have established a FAST and impressive progression. In May he ran 45.52 at the Daegu Colorful Pre-Championships Meeting. He followed that in June at Rabat Meeting International Mohammed where he clocked 45.06. On July 16 at Lausanne Athletissima he ran 44.72 and then lowered that mark at the Meeting AREVA last week with a time of 44.63.
Now with a time of 44.40 Gonzales is poised for a FAST future.
