The 100 meter dash has a new champion.

Despite the drama resulting from Usain Bolt’s false-start disqualification, Yohan Blake remained unshaken, running a respectable 9.95 seconds to win the event and keep the 100 meter title in Jamaican hands.

Though Usain Bolt’s blistering 9.58 world record didn’t fall this year, the excitement in seeing a new title holder rise may still be good news for the track and field community. What do you think? Will the 100 meter loss push Bolt to run a much more inspired 200 meter race? Now having two 100 meter world champions, is Jamaica’s 4x1 relay team poised to set a new world record? How do you think the rest of the world championships
will play out? Share your thoughts in our running communities on Facebook and Twitter or feel free to use the comment box below.
