Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Firstly, to all of my family gathered on Waping Road in Middletown, Rhode Island. I hope Aunts brought "The Pink Stuff" (my Aunt Alice's famous crab dip nicknamed "The Pink Stuff" about 30 years ago). I miss all of you guys, and I'm sure I will be the topic of conversation at the table. Something like, "Is Kenny nuts?" or something of the sort.
Even in these times of trial and tribulation, all of us on board have a lot to be thankful for. Everyone is in great health, first of all. We have a sound platform getting us to where we want to go. We have our humor. We have an 11-person crew that can tackle nearly anything at this stage.
We don't have a freeze-dried turkey, but we are thankful for enough food to get us to our next destination. And, we are incredibly thankful for all of our tireless supporters back on land trying to work against all odds to work the logistics and get us back into this race.
Compared to all of you and the mental anguish that we are probably putting you through, I think we have the easy part out here.
So happy Thanksgiving USA. On behalf of the other two Americans on board – Rome Kirby (saying “hi” to the 136 or so immediate relatives gathering in the Newport area), and Amory Ross (who's family is also in Newport) – have a great day and we will be thinking of you all.
- Kenny
