Weekend Guide To...Bologna

Known for its well-maintained historical sites, art, music and cultural life, Bologna seemed a perfect locale for our next After Hours reconnaissance mission. So, we (slightly reluctantly) put down our giant PUMA Social HQ ping pong paddles, hung up the pool cues and packed our overnight bags for another epic weekend...

What to eat? Anything with a Bolognese (ragù) sauce. Where do you think they got the name from?! The world’s most famous pasta sauce originated here consisting of pureed tomatoes, beef and red wine. The region is also great for cured meats and cheeses, as well as being full of excellent vineyards – we would, however, recommend loading up on the pasta carbs before spending your afternoon wine tasting! Otherwise, you may not even make it out to experience Bologna’s After Hours entertainment!

Where to go? Check out the city’s iconic Two Towers, Basilica of San Petronio, the Piazza Maggiore (Major Square), stroll along Bologna’s vast arcades or take an expert Italian cooking class. And if you haven't slopped ragù all over your favourite tee already, hit up some bars in the university district of via Zamboni and mix it up with the local PUMA Socialites! 

Where to shop? Shopping is all about exclusivity in Bologna. If you fancy adding one more outfit to that ever-expanding wardrobe of PUMA Social chic, head to the designer paradise of Via Rizzoli, Via D’Azeglio, Via Farini and Via Castiglione for the best of Italian fashion.
