High Volume Foreword
The high volume foreword creates better balance and positioning for flat water paddling.

Wave Piercing Reverse Bow
The wave piercing bow is all about speed; makes the board faster. The wave piercing reverse bow design runs faster with less pounding and heaving than a regular hull.

The PUMA/Laird Stand-Up Paddle Board design is the result of a collaboration between PUMA, legendary surfer Laird Hamilton and renown boat designer Juan Kouyoumdjian, the master mind behind PUMA’s Volvo Open 70 race yacht, Mar Mostro.

Light Weight, Hollow Composite Construction
The lightness allows for more buoyancy, which consequently makes the board, as a whole, easier to maneuver and handle, and also serves simultaneously as a speed generating mechanism.

Callout-4-img

This unique board takes inspiration from Mar Mostro’s hull design, both ergonomically and with the use of similar ultra-lightweight carbon fiber.

Custom Laird Hamilton/Future Fins Carbon Fiber Fins
There are two of them, both carbon composed, specifically designed for flat wave riding.

The Laird Puma was collaboratively designed by Futures, Laird Hamilton and the PUMA Ocean Racing team. The raked leading edge curve finds the balance between performance in waves and an efficient kelp shedding glide through flat water. This fin is constructed with 3K Carbon Fiber and an experimental lightweight core currently available only on this model.

Straight Transom and Dead Rise
The straight transom & dead rise serve to enhance speed in connection with the creation of a welded surface, which affords the board a uniform rigidity that makes for a smooth, efficient, and potentially very fast ride.

Callout-5-img

Made in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, the PUMA/Laird board marks the first time boat hydrodynamic technology and innovation has been applied to stand-up paddle boards.

Rounded Bottom
The rounded bottom is intended to serve as a displacement function to make the board faster at lower speeds; it’s successful.
