In order to scout out all things suitably Spanish/Social ahead of our PUMA Social Club Tapas Party on the 4th of November, we challenged two of our executive After Hours Athletes to scope out the best late night hang outs the Spanish east coast has to offer.

What to eat? When in Rome…well, Spain obviously, there is absolutely no acceptable alternative to Paella. Whilst here you can try either ‘arroz a banda’ -Alicante’s twist on the Valencian classic (rabbit and chicken), or remain loyal to all things España by sticking with the classic seafood dish. Residing on the edge of the Med it’s probably not a bad shout…but why not try both?!
With most bars and clubs open ‘til the very early, early hours (6am) or late evening as us After Hours Athletes know it, why not stop off for a hearty serving of torrijas - the Spanish breakfast equivalent of bread pudding is perfect for soaking up that extra glass of sangria!
Where to go? Grab your hottest pair of PUMA kicks and take a stroll down the city’s famous El Postiguet beach, which boasts almost 1km of stunning golden sand. Soak up the rays and indulge in some R&R in preparation for some serious After Hours Alicante action! In El Postiguet try taking the lift up Benacantil Mountain or if you’re feeling extra energized, grab those PUMA Suedes and dazzle the hikers as you head up the Castillo de Santa Bárbara for some breathtaking views of the city.
Where to shop? Open 24 hours, the Panoramis Centre is heaven-sent for you PUMA Social night owls acting as a complete entertainment centre with a wide variety of shops, stylish bars, great restaurants and a 13-screen cinema. For those wanting something a little more traditional, Rambla de Méndez Núñez is a great place to hit up for beautiful architecture and vibrant streets full of explosive and colourful fiestas. And...if you really can’t live without us...perfect evening attire can be picked up from the local PUMA store!
What to wear? As fashion in Alicante is all about keeping cool (sweaty and shirtless?..definitely not okay), we recommend picking up our vintage 'Bluebird' tee, which is sure to serve you well on your short trip from the beach to the bar.
Where to party? Dónde es la fiesta? Depending on your scene, Alicante offers many different hideouts for the After Hours Athlete. Bustling with energy and packed with bars to suit all tastes, El Barrio is a key stop on the late night tour bus and is popular with locals and tourists alike. From live music and art exhibitions through to stunning architecture and plenty of clubs, El Barrio offers muchos late night entertainment for all.
Fancy a different kind of adventure? Head off the beaten track behind the Central Mercada onto the ‘ruta de la madera’ (the route of wood) for a bar crawl unlike any other!
What to say? ¿Quisieras bailar conmigo?
Translation: Would you like to dance with me?!
