Earlier this month, the U14 girls from the Internationals Soccer Club took home the championship trophy of the United Soccer League (USL) Super Y-League North American Championships. The USL Super Y-League Finals are an annual event in which the top youth soccer clubs from around the United States and Canada qualify through the Super Y-League regular season competition. Coached by Zdravko Popovic and Keri Sarver, the team advanced to the National finals after finishing first in the Midwest Division during the regular season. During the finals, the team was undefeated and conceded only two goals while scoring eleven.
"I could not be more proud of how all of our players and teams represented their club, state and region at the Super-Y Finals," said Internationals Director of Coaching, Keri Sarver. "To qualify with four teams to the finals and advance three to the semi-final round is a testament to the strength of our organization. Our players were disciplined in their approach through the weeks of preparation leading up to the event and during the event. They played with passion and displayed a good brand of attacking soccer. The U14s are so deserving of this title and they help carry on a winning tradition established by our previous generations of players."
The whole PUMA Family wants to extend a huge congratulations to the Internationals and in particular, the U14s, for your amazing performance through the tournament. You are so deserving of the trophy and we are proud of your achievements!
